I worked with a team of three other designers to conduct user research and conceptualize an original app to help users better care for their houseplants. My primary role was to serve as a front-end developer, as I designed and coded 3 responsive webpages for the app’s landing page website using custom HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and the BootStrap 5 framework.

WORK EXPERIENCE

KPMG US | Information Technology Advisory Associate

San Francisco, CA | January 2018 – September 2020  

  • Facilitated virtual walkthrough meetings with clients’ IT process owners and engineering teams, interviewing and observing them demonstrate complex processes to gain an understanding of how financial data moves through their information systems

  • Organized and documented the data I collected from these interviews, detailing each aspect of the clients’ information system architecture, as well as identifying performance improvement opportunities and ensuring compliance with best practices, frequently uncovering issues that had been overlooked by the prior year's audit team

  • Responsible for tracking engagement progress through various scheduling applications, as well as leveraging that information to more efficiently operate on a tight timeline and budget throughout each of my engagements

  • Managed multiple junior staff and offshore team members, providing feedback on their deliverables and communicating status updates to internal management and the client so that all stakeholders were consistently on the same page

  • Represented the Los Angeles office at the 2019 Pride@KPMG convention, participating in workshops that enabled me to help make the office a more LGBTQ+ friendly environment

  • Aided in the planning stage of a large-scale, two-year engagement for a telecommunications company, establishing frameworks fundamental to the completion of the engagement.

Human Resources Intern | June 2015 – July 2015

  • Immersed myself in Spanish working culture, demonstrating a strong grasp of the Spanish language in a commercial environment by translating various business documents from Spanish to English (English to Spanish) and building lasting relationships
